Starting at a young age, being involved in team sports, endurance training and amateur boxing, I was immersed in the world of athleticism and fitness. For several years, my after school activity consisted of countless hours training at the Police Athletics League, followed by nightly rituals of long distance running. By the age of 16, I had already made the decision to pursue weight training and bodybuilding exclusively. Spending my entire weekends hanging out at the MuscleMag Intl. store in Sunrise, FL was a regular teenage experience for me. Being surrounded by seasoned coaches and trainers, bodybuilders, and a variety of healthcare advocates fueled my inspiration and thirst for knowledge. I consider myself fortunate to have had those opportunities to establish that rapport from such an early age. This is where many of the invaluable relationships within the industry originated and remain strong to this day.
As my passion for bodybuilding continued to develop, so did my desire to evolve not just as an individual, but as a health and fitness professional who could ultimately help others to achieve their own fitness goals. Knowing that, I began my journey. Understanding that there are so many elements involved I continued to further my knowledge and skills within the health and fitness fields, immersing myself in all things wellness. Simultaneously, I pursued my education in Emergency Medical Services, (EMT/Paramedic), which provided me with an even deeper scientific understanding of human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and acute injury care. However, my education did not stop there. I have been training clients for 15 years, and am a certified Personal Trainer. I consider learning to be a life-long process, and aim to incorporate skill development through continuing my education while upholding and furthering my credentials.
I have experience in many sides of the industry including: working in health and fitness retail, fitness modeling, consulting in dietary supplements and nutritional support, product development/workout design and publishing for GNC, coaching competitive bodybuilding and physique athletes, and of course participating in bodybuilding competitions myself, (having turned professional in the IFBB in 2019).

I have suffered injuries, acute and chronic, which have led me down the arduous path of seeking and eventually finding the advice and guidance of experts and then keenly implementing the processes to promote healing. One of these experts just so happens to be my wife and business partner, Caryn - a master clinician. I am an avid reader of clinical texts and maintain great interest in continued education on the subjects of back health and spine biomechanics, "movement hygiene", and all things fitness and performance related. My continued interest in these relevant topics has kept me out of painful episodes for many years now. In hindsight, I am grateful because my times of suffering have become valuable opportunities to learn and become a better instructor. These lessons allow me to utilize those hard won tools so that I may seek to effectively impart this wisdom upon my clients. In taking a holistic, bio-psycho-social outlook, I always tailor a custom approach on a client per client basis. Although my heart resonates with muscular development and strength training, I firmly believe that the fundamental principles of enhancing performance are transferable among all aspects of human movement - so long as they are guided by great coaching and the training routines rooted in appropriate, sound exercise programming.
On a more personal note, aside from interests within the health and fitness realm, I am a seasoned musician, having played professionally as a drummer since the age of 13. Music is one other aspect I hold dearly, as I believe it is an art form that exists with no other to compare. However, the great thing about competitive bodybuilding is that it allows for the combination of both artistic expressions on stage - aesthetic posing and music. Although I have been out of the professional music scene for some years now, I do still carve out time for occasional upkeep and skill maintenance behind the drums at my in-home practice studio.
What gives me the most joy and personal fulfillment in my career is the ability to work closely with individuals to bring about meaningful and measurable change within their lives. The countless ways and means of doing so is what makes my occupation so abundantly fascinating. I like to think of myself as a natural born teacher, as I have always found the process not only gratifying, but in a way, a learning experience in and of itself. The art of effective communication and interpersonal rapport building creates a better environment for the client and helps develop a practitioner who is truly trustworthy. This is who I am and the reputation I strive to maintain for each and every individual I work with. This is my branch of expertise and what I bring to every session. Welcome to Peaked Health.

I am a Licensed, Board Certified Occupational Therapist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Certified Personal Trainer, but more importantly I am an individual, just like you, who wants to feel good and live the best life possible.
It is through my own personal journey of illness which has led me to develop Peaked Health. From a young age, I have struggled with my weight, obscure illnesses both acute and chronic, surgeries, and injuries. I have also been the caregiver to several family members needing health and medical services. I have been to a variety of health professionals seeking help and guidance, often ending up disappointed, frustrated and occasionally, even worse off than when I started. It was through these experiences which propelled me forward in educating and immersing myself in learning about the workings of the human body in order to help myself and my loved ones. I have learned that we must become our own best advocate.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology- that provided me with the foundation of how the human mind works. I knew I needed more- that is when I pursued graduate school, and earned a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. I chose Occupational Therapy because of its holistic perspective on health, wellness and illness. Occupational Therapy is a medical profession, whose motto is helping others “Live Life to its Fullest”, working through illness and injury and optimizing function. Occupational Therapy provided me with the medical background of how the mind and body are connected, and in-depth knowledge of physical (anatomical, physiological and neurological), psychological and social/emotional factors that play a role in a person's health and wellness.
Through my education and experience, I have found that movement- in every sense of the word- truly is medicine. Exercise has always been a staple in my life- but it wasn’t until I began consistently strength training with my now husband and business partner Dan, when my life completely changed.

The positive effects movement and resistance training has on every body system is undeniable. Further, my skills as a rehabilitative medical professional were enhanced 10 fold. It became more apparent that rehab and fitness were really both one and the same- they just begin on different parts of the continuum. That is when I began furthering my education within the fitness realm. It all came full circle for me when day in and day out, I witnessed the current state of both our fitness and rehab industries implementing, marketing and perpetuating exaggerated concepts and false claims, which are doing more harm than good. The quantity over quality mentality and cookie cutter treatment and fitness approaches don't work, and are definitely not sustainable. It became more and more apparent that I just viewed things through a completely different lens…and I was the minority.I was extremely saddened by the “health-care” services I saw people receiving as well as hearing about others' overall negative experiences. I also witnessed fellow health professionals on the brink of burnout, unhealthy and in pain. I once knew these struggles, but I also came to know that it doesn’t have to be, or stay that way. I made a decision that I was no longer going to participate in the “sick-care” model of practice; I was determined to find a way to truly help others- even if that meant just one person at a time. That is when Peaked Health was born.
Take a glimpse into my journey as an NPC competitive bodybuilder, where in 2019 I competed in the 'Figure' category and in 2021 transitioned to the 'Wellness' division, securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places across various shows.
This experience not only showcased my athletic expertise but also allowed me to fuse my artistic and athletic sides seamlessly. Similar to dance, the stage became my canvas, and through disciplined nutrition and training, I gained a profound understanding of the incredible capabilities of the human body.
It was an amazing journey that not only sculpted my physique but also illuminated the extraordinary potential within.
I have been a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor for more than 15 years. In that time, I have enjoyed training a variety of clients in various disciplines. I first developed my passion for fitness in the US Marine Corps where I served for ten years and also trained as a medical assistant. Being a platoon sergeant responsible for physical training sessions ignited my career in fitness. I began studying mixed martial arts and ran my first marathon while stationed in Japan, and today continue to love kickboxing and boxing.
My passion is to help others achieve their physical goals and improve the quality of their daily lives. My focus is on tailoring programs to my clients’ needs while emphasizing the importance of correct form and breathing techniques. I aim to find a variety of physical activities to encourage and help clients enjoy their sessions. I feel the most important things I can give a client are the tools and support necessary to take more control over their own health.
Peaked Health has personally helped me to improve my own physical wellbeing over the last few years, and I am grateful to be a part of the team!
